Stayed 3 nights at Amanda and Chris’s Hidden House - I’ve stayed at my fair share of gorgeous Airbnbs but this was one of my favourites. Perfect location in the middle of town, one street away from the taxi drop off point which is great if you’re wheeling a suitcase (cars aren’t allowed in town). The place was beautifully designed, just like the photos and had all the amenities we needed. Most of all, Amanda was the best host I’ve encountered. She was flexible with our check in, gave us a tonne of local recommendations and was just a delight to chat with. Her and Chris really made our stay in Stari Grad a very enjoyable one!

We can’t say enough good things about Amanda, Chris, and Hidden House. The space was a perfect retreat: comfortable, unique design, and the perfect location in town — steps to anything you want to experience in Stari Grad. But our hosts, Amanda and Chris, are what really made our trip extraordinary. Their knowledge of the area and connections around town make for an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re looking for an amazing new restaurant to try, the best cocktail in town, a secret cove to swim in, a fabulous day out sailing, (all of which we did!)...Chris and Amanda have all the tips and will go out of their way to help make it happen. After a week, we left the island a little dumbfounded at just how fantastic the trip turned out to be and we owe it to them. Thank you Amanda and Chris. We can't wait to visit again!

This is the first Airbnb we have booked into overseas. If they were all like Amanda’s place and the hosts were as lovely and helpful as Amanda, you would not look elsewhere. Stari Grad is gorgeous and a perfect place for a relaxing stay with access to a raft of activities and facilities. Amanda was super proactive and provided a small bible of great information. She arranged transport to and from the port and also booked us a daybed at the wonderful Thia island, which is a little piece of heaven and the most relaxing day spent. The pictures of Hidden House are an accurate reflection and the suite was bright and comfortable. Thank you Amanda and Chris for sharing your delightful property with us.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay with Amanda and Chris in Stari Grad. They were extremely kind and gracious hosts, with lots of great recommendations of things to do in the area. The apartment itself was beautiful and in the perfect location, on a quiet street but really close to everything you want to see and do. We hope to go back again someday! 100% recommend.

Dog friendly!
Such a great place in center of Stari Grad with delicious food just as you step outside of the apartment. Hosts are amazing and full of understanding since we have a little puppy. Would definitely recommend!

Hidden Experiences
While the accommodations were perfect for us, the best part was the host team of Amanda and Chris. Amanda was invaluable in helping us make arrangements prior to our arrival and kept in great touch (but not intrusively) while we were there. On our first night, we had the perfect "soft landing" at Hidden House thanks to Chris (a world-renowned barman and mixologist) putting on a mixology class for us. It was a great way to unwind while learning how to make cocktails. I recommend this for everyone who appreciates a cocktail.

We just returned from an amazing trip to Croatia, capped off by an unforgettable stay in Stari Grad at Hidden House. From the moment I booked, our host Amanda was so incredibly helpful, answering any questions I had to help us plan our stay. She booked a taxi to pick us up at the ferry, and greeted us with a warm smile and escorted us to the house. We were upgraded to their top floor Amanda suite, which is so tastefully decorated and includes a roof top terrace. Throughout our stay, Amanda checked in with us to make sure we we’re getting along ok and to see if we needed anything. She put us in contact with a reasonably priced taxi service, water taxi, swimming spot recommendations, restaurants, bars, you name it.

Amanda and Chris were perfect hosts, regularly in touch and responsive, arranging transport, making recommendations, booking restaurants, bikes, taxis, water taxis, and more. We chatted with them for hours and were pleased to see them each day around Stari Grad.

Amanda’s communication beforehand sold the place to me! She was full of ideas for our stay - she suggested so many wonderful things to do including hiring a boat to explore the beautiful bays with a picnic, which we did. With Chris, what you see is what you get, a genuine wonderful guy, informative and fun with connections throughout Stari Grad. When people care this much and have amazing taste you get something unique, Hidden House is so unique on a world-wide scale!

Every now and then you have a gem of a stay, a home away from home — the apartment beautifully furnished, with warm & cosy lighting; modern amenities like an espresso machine and coffee pods, smart tv with netflix etc; generous provisions of L'Occitane toiletries; everything spotlessly clean. The best sleep guaranteed on a huge comfy bed with amazing pillows and luxurious bed linen.
Great location right in the Stari Grad old town, windows opening to beautiful views of ancient walls and greenery, and the best bistros practically right at the doorstep

The suites themselves are in excellent condition: clean, welcoming, and strong air conditioning (when needed). We were so comfortable in our room and on the Amanda Suite terrace that we spent far more time than planned relaxing at Hidden House before going off to explore the rest of Stari Grad and Hvar. I recall from prior to our visit that many guests complimented the comfort of the mattresses and I can confirm that we were in bliss with how luxurious all the amenities were, especially the bedding.

We were so honored to be Amanda and Chris’s first guests after the work was completed. The house is gorgeous with a blend of modern and historic. (You can tell that Amanda is an interior designer) I think we all at one point in time stood in the Amanda room admiring the original stone sink. It’s a beauty!

What a great place to stay, to see lovely Hvar away from the hustle and bustle of the main town itself. Stari Grad, Vrboska and Jelsa are pretty coastal towns and very much worth a visit — and Hidden House is perfect as a base.

All our expectations were exceeded! A fabulous place to stay in one of the most beautiful places. Hidden House is located in the wonderful tiny streets just a few metres from the harbour. The ancient stone streets are just wide enough for a table and chairs to be placed outside restaurants, everyone says hello.
